Cookies
No cookies, no banner, and here is why.
This site does not set cookies and does not use analytics. The app keeps a few things in your browser so that it works. This page lists them all.
On this page
1. The short version
There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. Nothing on backtestflow.com tracks you, and the app at app.backtestflow.com stores only what it needs to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. If we ever add an analytics tool, this page changes first.
2. What we keep in your browser
Browsers offer a small store called local storage, separate from cookies: it is never sent to a server, it stays on your device, and it is what we use.
| Where | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| This site | The language you picked (English or Italian) and the look settings of the page. | So the next page opens in the same language. |
| The app | Your sign-in token. | So you stay signed in between visits. Signing out removes it, and so does changing your password on another device. |
| The app | Interface preferences: the theme, the language, where you left the toolbars of the chart, and a checkpoint of the backtest session you have open. | So the app opens the way you left it, and a closed tab does not lose the session in progress. |
3. Third parties
- Stripe. When you pay or open the billing portal you are on pages hosted by Stripe, which sets its own cookies for security and fraud prevention under its own cookie policy. We do not read them.
- Google Fonts. The site loads its typefaces from Google's servers. The request carries your IP address, as any request does; it sets no cookie.
- Google sign-in. On the sign-in and sign-up pages the app loads Google's sign-in script, and if you press "Sign in with Google" it opens a Google page in a window of its own. Google sets its own cookies there, under its own cookie policy. We do not read them, and nothing is set on our domain.
- Cloudflare. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may set a purely technical cookie on some requests to tell browsers apart during a security check. It identifies no one.
4. How to clear it
Signing out of the app removes the token. Clearing the site data for backtestflow.com and app.backtestflow.com in your browser's settings removes everything else; the app will ask you to sign in again and start from its default settings.
